It would be wise not to ask Sarah Backman to arm wrestle. The eight times World Arm Wrestling champion is likely to win, hands down! (Pun intended). The former WWE NXT also known as Sarah, married WWE Superstar Bo Dallas this year. Call her what you want, just be sure to bring your A game to the wrestling table. Backman also has eight European Arm Wrestling wins and 11 Swedish Arm Wrestling victories to be proud of.
“I practice arm wrestling one to two times per week and I work out at the gym almost every day. I love the gym; it’s my second home. I plan the training myself. In the gym I train my whole body because I think it’s fun, and of course I focus a lot on arm wrestling exercises – wrist, forearm, side pressure, back pressure, etc.” And this is how she does it, with two or three exercises of up to 30 sets each, she works on one or two body parts a day. She does heavy basic compound movements with a good deal of emphasis on Olympic and powerlifting movements; (300lb deadlift, 235 Olympic squat and 190 bench.)
Sarah Backman maintains that she never does over 6 reps and uses Fat Gripz for everything from chins and dips and rows which is what builds her bone-crushing grip strength. Backman does hammer curls and dumbbell rows to help her top roll and finally walk for 5 km (approximately 3 miles) four times a week and ten sets of 100-meter sprints after that. The best part is how she still comes out looking like a sculpted goddess. Sarah Backman is just beautiful, plainly put.
Advises the champion, “Train hard, eat right, take the right supplements, set goals for yourself-what you want to achieve in life. You have to work for it really hard. The more you work the more you’re going to achieve.” Got it? Yes ma’am!
