Roseanne Desmarais

Roseanne Desmarais, born Roseanne Blackburn is from Spišská Sobota in Slovakia, competed in both boxing and wrestling beginning in 1995. As an amateur boxer she had six wins and four loses; three by knock out. Her first time in the ring, Desmarais won by knockout. An undefeated wrestler, she won the Western Canadian Wrestling Championships in 2007 and the Silver in 2008. As a professional, Roseanne Desmarais, won five matches under the direction of Wayne Henderson, her personal trainer and Dave Palumbo, her nutritionist who is also the owner of RxMuscle.

What should’ve been career ending damage to the Pars de interarticularis of her L5, resulted in major surgery. Roseanne had four screws, two plates a new vertebral disk, a bone graft off of the hip…along with 3 pulmonary embolisms and pneumonia. There’s no doubting her determination, five months after the surgery still in back brace, Roseanne Desmarais placed first in the middleweight class at the Western Canadian Naturals.

A truly versatile athlete, Roseanne even competed in the Mixed Martial Arts. Fifteen years in fitness and with dozens of titles, editorials and articles under her belt, Rosanne Desmarais, explored the arts. As an actress has played as an extra in quite a few movies including An Unfinished Life; starring Jennifer Lopez and Robert Redford, Miss Texas; a European based mini-series, Brothers Blues; an extra and credits om Firewall with Harrison Ford, Afghan Nights starring Matt Madison and Battlestar Galactica. On Friday, September 17th, 2010 Roseanne Desmarais lost her life in a car crash in Hope, British Columbia Canada.
