Cory Everson, bodybuilder, actress, philanthropist; wowed the world recently appearing in an editorial in Ironmag proving that she is still the one to watch. Since the 1980’s Cory Everson has been a crowd favorite, winning the title of Ms. Olympia six times in a row. She is known for her enduring drive and incredible work ethic. In high school, Cory Everson was a gymnastics champion who never gave up until she successfully completed her goals.
When Cory decided to make bodybuilding her mission she encountered a crisis no one could have predicted. A blood clot in her left leg almost not only put her athletic future in danger, but also her life. A protein C deficiency was at the source; causing the blood to clot too easily. Her leg became twice its size due to swelling immobilizing Everson, leaving her in constant pain and fever. Cory spent ten long weeks in intensive care.
Although her pro debut was in the IFBB North American 1982, Everson is best known for holding the Joe Weider’s Olympia Weekend Ms. Olympia title from 1984 to 1989. After retiring from competition, Everson began acting. Her first major movie appearance was in Double Impact (1991) alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme. In it she plays Kara, a bone-crushing assassin to the main badguy.
Now in her fifties, when Cory Everson isn’t investing her strength and creativity into community organizations; she’s at the gym keeping her body in the best shape of all time. Cory facilitates seminars on leading enriching and happy lives. She makes baskets for the elderly, landscapes for her neighbors. Cory and her husband of 16 years, Dr. Steve Donia, are proud adoptive parents of two Russian children. They’ve been so happy with the additions to their family. It has inspired Cory to connect families looking to adopt children with reputable agencies.
